I know that it may seem strange to some of you, but I was not aware of the fact that I had an uncle for years. It was only three months ago when my mom mentioned something about Uncle Frank. ‘Who"s Frank?", I asked her, and she looked at me in disbelief. ‘Haven"t I told you about my younger brother Frank?", she said. Well, she hadn"t. Then she went on to explain that she had never got on well with her brother. She had not seen him for fifteen years! Her mother told her that he worked as a bathroom furniture manufacturer in the south of the country. He never married and probably lived on his own. My mom had tried to invite him for Christmas several times but he never came. I think isolation is the worst possible choice. I know that sometimes people don"t like each other, but is it a reason to avoid your brother or your sister? Unfortunately, this is the case in a lot of families. Some children never get in touch with their parents or grandparents, even during Christmas or Easter time. My uncle Jack probably manages on his own as a bathroom furniture manufacturer but he does not have any emotional support from his family. On the other hand, I have no idea why he does not want to get in touch with anyone. I guess he has his own reasons.
