Important diet tips for athletes
A lot of athletes have been asking us about the effects of drinking alcohol on their bodies. Of course, we don"t know what your drinking habits are, but our diet tips will give you an idea on how to consume alcohol within reasonable limits. First of all, never drink and train. This is the rule number one. Alcohol negatively affects you concentration skills, coordination, balance, power, strength, speed and endurance. It apparently improves your flexibility, but in fact stretching your muscles when under the influence of alcohol can cause injuries. Moreover, when you drink and train, your body temperature cannot be regulated as easily, you blood sugar levels are significantly lowered and your body gets rid of water (though perspiration and urine) much more quickly, increasing the risk dehydration. However, you may drink small amounts of alcohol on the days you"re not working out. A bottle of beer or a glass of wine will not do any harm, and some research shows that they may even boost your immune system and prevent heart diseases. This is why so many diet tips include drinking small amounts of alcohol. It is important to drink water alongside with alcohol and to stop when your limits have been exceeded.
