Corporate magic events: why take the time?

Performance, style and grace along with great amusement can make your event wake-up instead of snore and one of the most unique ways in the industry is with corporate magic events.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been to hundreds of corporate events, seminars, gatherings and the like. They are all the same: boring. The only reason we go is for the possible chance of golf, to get out of the office and for free food. There is no real entertainment to keep us busy. Maybe, if we’re lucky, they’ll up some retired old lounge singer or cruise ship act or, even worse yet, a motivational speaker.

I just sensed a collective shudder. No one wants to even think about that motivational speaker with the giant teeth, slick hair and bad suit rambling of things about corporate togetherness and thinking outside of the box. Who needs it? It’s the same stuff you’ve been hearing from the Human Resources Department, your psychologist or job counselor for years.

Don’t you think it’s about time to make the dullness vanish? Make the annoying motivational guy disappear? Enter corporate magic events to the rescue. It’s different and it’s unique. It will most definitely be fun and everyone will have a great time. It can also accomplish the same exact thing that you were going to pay the motivational speaker guy to do, but this time it may actually work!

Your attendees will certainly appreciate you more for bringing them a corporate magic event – more so than a house band from a smelly biker bar or a cruise ship wannabe American Idol. Who doesn’t enjoy magic? We all relish in trying to figure it out! It’s part of the mystery.

Imagine for one second the look of amazement on your guests faces when someone gets picked from the audience to participate in a trick? Maybe a group of them can be used and it can be turned into something that is more inspirational or something that can teach your people about team building and trust not to mention being creative thinkers. We retain knowledge more through “fun learning” then the usual “cram it down our throat” method we’ve had to deal with for many years.

One major perk to having a corporate magic event is that it’s completely scalable to your needs. Be it size of venue, amount of attendees or cost. You can go all out with a Las Vegas style performance that will have your people on the edge of their seats or you can choose for something that is more casual such as table or close-up magic. It’s more personal and sometimes you’re left more awestruck than you would otherwise because it is so up close.

You’re thinking that the cost involved for the corporate magic event would be way too high for you. The fact of the matter is that your typical motivational speaker will charge you in upwards of $3500 for a 30 minute to an hour engagement. This doesn’t include airfare or expenses. Magicians on the other hand will usually drive themselves negating that cost or they’ll be local which means no hotel. You can get a good magician to perform more than once over a couple of days for half for one from the motivational speaker.

It’s certain to be a crowd pleaser as well as a pleaser to the wallet so before you book that Tony Robbins wannabe you should consider holding a magic corporate event instead.
