The elements of corporate parties

For corporate parties to be truly memorable events, creeping into office conversations long after they have concluded, not only should they be filled with fun.  Really noteworthy corporate parties are remembered well by the people who attended them because they are well-organised and coordinated, and the needs of the attendees therein were all met satisfactorily.

The people behind a company’s corporate parties can plan these events all by themselves, going through every detail on their own.  Generally, however, they hire an events planner that specialises in corporate parties.  By hiring such a party planner, they minimise the possibility of the event becoming a flop, not to mention letting someone else deal with the headache of making sure that their corporate parties are a success.

Bespoke corporate parties are customised parties that events planners draft out to suit their customers’ needs and expectations for their corporate parties.  Such bespoke corporate parties include many elements.  Below is a list of some of the requirements that clients expect of the bespoke corporate parties that they contract with events planners.

Lighting, stage setup and decorations.  The first step to successful corporate parties is creating the necessary ambiance for the event, depending on its motif.  If the venue is properly set up for the corporate party, taking into great consideration how the party is to be themed, the attendees will be immediately put into a partying mood the moment they step inside the venue.  Setting up the place includes taking care of the mood lighting and the stage lighting, not to mention the decorations.  Planners of corporate parties are supposed to have in tow skilled artists to deal with the decorations as well as qualified technicians to handle the installation of the lighting.

Catering.  What is a party, any party, without the food?  Guests always expect to be fed at a party, especially in corporate parties.  It is a must for events planners to have a catering arm, and events planners coordinate closely with their clients regarding what kind of food is to be served and how is the food going to be served.  It could be a finger buffet or a five-course gourmet dinner.  The fare could be all meat, all seafood, totally vegetarian or a balanced mix of everything.  The success of the food served depends on the choices made by the client and how the events planner’s caterer delivers it.

Music.  Music further enhances the mood of corporate parties.  The choice of music should match the time and the motif or theme of the event.  Depending on the motif or theme chosen by the client for the party, the music could be provided by a deejay, some solo performers, a band, or a string quartet.  The music could be for dancing, if dancing is to be part of the party’s programme.  The music could be something to listen to while the meal is being served or during the lull in conversations.  The music could also be the focus of the conversation itself.

Entertainment.  Corporate parties can turn dull and dreary without some form of entertainment inserted in the programme.  Solo performers, magicians, stand-up comics and comedy pickpockets are good choices of entertainment in corporate parties.  Mobile fun casinos are also becoming popular nowadays as a means of entertainment in corporate parties.

Souvenirs.  After dining and wining the guests at corporate parties, a nice touch to cap the event would be to let the guests bring home souvenirs.  The usual souvenirs such as figurines and engraved wine glasses are becoming too common and passé.  Hiring caricaturists as well as silhouette or origami artists to create souvenirs for the guests on the spot is a creative way of doing it.

Truly memorable corporate parties are not just filled with fun.  They are well-organised and coordinated events, unique and satisfying.
