Famous Magic Acts

Picking pockets, the magician leaving a person without a personal item that they once wore or had in a pocket, can make your event attendees gasp in wonder. Often the audience will not respond immediately but rather after a short delay. The delay is a result of a “how’d he do that?” response. It is this kind of response that all magic entertainers are looking for and one that all audiences enjoy and remember. Picking pockets magicians are the best kind of magicians because they are often the best at what they do.

Worth the money

Obviously the art of picking pockets is not one that is learned overnight. Only the better magicians, like Harry Anderson, can accomplish the feat well while carrying on a multi-faceted act. There have been many who have mastered the art with the intention of picking a pocket and not returning the object but only a few who do it in an entertaining way. In a certain sense, they come with a hefty price tag simply to keep them honest.  But if the “wow” factor needs to a part of your event, magicians that can pull these tricks off are a great way to go.

A variety of magic acts

Picking pockets is obviously a fairly up close and personal form of magic that translates on several levels. There are, however, many kinds of magic that astound and amaze. Each type of magic has a reputed Master and a vibrant discussion of whether they happen to be the best or not. There is also the definition of whether magic is being performed or not. Is it a magic trick or just a stunt?

Making things disappear is likely magic and one form that David Copperfield is fond of. He has made a donkey levitate over the Grand Canyon and the Statue of Liberty disappear. These illusions make it difficult to say that a form of magic isn’t going on. But if a person stays underwater for 30 days or seals themselves in an ice block, is that magic? It certainly isn’t picking pockets but David Blain certainly makes it appear so.

Masters of the Macomb

Magic to be sure, Penn & Teller are perhaps two of the better magicians to be entertaining crowds today. Tricks that boarder on the psychotic and gory are executed (pun intended) to the astonished audience. Teller often is the straight man and has the tendency to lose body parts or gain railroad spikes through the arm. Penn, born of the mid-way and with a solid circus background is a true expert at picking pockets with flair and little care for the constitution of his victims.

 The greatest magic entertainer
Picking pockets or not Harry Houdini is generally acknowledged to be the greatest magician of all time. Some may dispute his act, but his tricks are admittedly amazing. Presentation rather then stunt oriented, escapes and illusions made the mark of this man who died on Halloween. Debate will likely continue among magic aficionados as to the greatest acts, but for your 2 cents worth of opinion you can always not feel somebody picking pockets.
