PARTY ENTERTAINERS: DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS!

Any corporate event that is classified as a party could be very exciting even at the planning stage.  Looking for the right party entertainers could be a challenge, though.  You must take into consideration the general mood and the theme blanketing this event.  This should guide your choice of party entertainers that you are going to hire.
Is this party a celebratory one that the event’s success depends on the noise, cheers, and even hoots?  If it is, then you would need a stand-up comedian.  If the event would include the families of employees, the type of party entertainers you would need to hire would range from balloon-twister to stage magicians as your audience, besides the employees, be composed of children and young adults.  If this party is more of a formal, tuxedo-and-gown event, you might want to hire the services of a cellist, a classical or jazz band.

PARTY ENTERTAINERS FOR DIFFERENT CORPORATE EVENTS
The type of corporate event you are organizing would specify the type of party entertainers you would need.  As the event planner assigned to this occasion, the choice you make could make or break your efficiency in the eyes of your boss.  It would be worth your while then to have at least a working knowledge of the different types of party entertainers and the types of occasions they would fit in.

  • Bands – bands, as party entertainers, easily become a nice choice in any corporate event for entertainment.  The type of music they play, their genre, should be determined by your audience.  Would you need a swing band? Would you need a band that plays rock ‘n roll? Or would you need a Top 40 band to entertain your mostly young executives?  You may also opt for a choir if, for example, it is a formal Christmas party, etc.
  • DJs or EMCEEs – these party entertainers are more versatile and can really jive with the crowd in terms of the wide range of music or audience participation, e.g., games, interviews, etc.
  • Singers or solo musicians – party entertainers who could perform a la Matt Monroe, Josh Groban, or Beyonce could really perk up a party.  A solo violinist or a pianist could bring some class and sophistication to the event.
  • Variety – your choice of party entertainers should not only be limited to musical presentations.  You may hire a magician, ventriloquist, caricaturist, comedian, etc.
  • Celebrity – celebrities, tv or movie actors and actresses may be great choices as party entertainers.  The audience’s familiarity with them, and their popularity, could be an added guarantee for the success of your entertainment feature.

DEAL ONLY WITH RELIABLE PARTY ENTERTAINERS
Whatever or whoever your choice is, it would be worth trying to make sure that the party entertainers you are hiring for the event could really entertain.  Find out if they have a good track record.  Asking around and checking on references would help a lot.  If you hear good reviews from at least three past clients, chances are they would be good candidates as party entertainers.
