Magic Trick 101: Picking Pockets

The world of Magic Entertainment has so much to offer to the masses, over the years there are a lot of new magic tricks that has been created by skilled magicians and talented veterans of their field. I for example am a fan of the famous disappearing act when I was a little kid. So I want to discuss something about one of the regular magic trends out there. The famous Picking Pocket magic trick, it always amazes the audience once that trick has been made by the performer.

So the popular question comes to mind is how does this trick made? Although a lot of experienced magicians say it’s simple and easy, it is still in retrospect a difficult trick to do if you are starting off as a rookie magician. Picking Pocket has been made popular on the streets as well, as street magician uses it as an opening act often to lure the crowd to their performance. In stage act, once the main host or the magician himself calls a guest from the audience, expect the trick to be made.

Although it doesn’t really require a high skill on doing the Picking Pocket trick it does however needs practice and discipline, remember that 99% of the Picking Pocket tricks made are done by hand and there’s assaying that the hand is faster than the eye itself. So if you let your eyes played tricks on you, whenever the stage is set and you are on the spotlight expect this method being performed.

One of the very basic Picking Pocket techniques are the coin and card tricks; one thing I’ve learned before is having this trick uses a lot of control and discipline it is not just a trick that can be made in a flash. Basically when doing Picking Pocket tricks, one must use a lot of diversion from the crowd like taking away their eyes on the prize.

It is require that you can connect to the audience with minimal talking, like you conversed with them using hand signals and a little bit of stage presence and acting. So that they will have their eyes out of the frame that you will perform your trick out of the blue so that the element of surprise is still present.

The main thing is being deceptively good at moving your hands and interacting with the audience, if you have a guest you should think in advance so that when you are explaining the magic trick that you are about to perform, it will come to the point that you already did the trick before hand, Picking Pocket requires you to reach on your guests pocket so you have to be close and be sure that you know what to pick and your timing must be perfect to avoid mistakes.
